Each member of Christ Presbyterian Church is encouraged to find at least one way they can serve the church and consider how they can serve the community through the church. The Board of Deacons oversees our ministries of service and delegate responsibilities to teams and individuals in several ways. Please inform church leadership if you would like to serve in any of these or other capacities.
The hospitality director works with this team to coordinate set up of the coffee station on Sunday mornings and arrange major church functions (i.e. Vision Dinner, Memorial Day Picnic).
Sunday Morning Greeters
The safety team is responsible for the safety of the church premises when we are meeting. Team members often serve as safety monitors.
Sunday Worship Set-up & Take-down
Since we currently meet in a gym, we must set-up and take-down every Sunday.
Audio team members supervise the set-up of the sound system and run the sound system during the worship service.
The deacons have identified several ministries in our community they recommend church members volunteer to serve in. Please speak with a deacon about serving in these ministries or refer to the appendix of the church manual for a list of local ministries. The deacons also plan community service opportunities that are announced to the church.
Our children’s director, April Akridge, oversees our children’s and nursery ministry. All church members are strongly encouraged to volunteer in the nursery during worship. Sunday School teachers are also needed for each semester of Sunday School. Child/Youth Protection Policies are in place to ensure the safety of our children.
Youth Ministry Team
Volunteer to help with the small group ministry for our youth. Plan or host youth events or family events. Contact Seth Hulsey if you are interested in this area of service.
Women’s Ministry Team
This team is to be attentive to the needs of the women in the church, communicate those needs to the session, and devise ways to meet those needs. They are also responsible for planning women’s events, such as the women’s retreat, and considering small group options for women.
