Additional Small Group Options

Youth Community Group

As we strive to assist parents in their efforts to raise their children in the Lord, we are considering the possibility of having a community group for middle and high school youth.  We envision the group meeting on a regular basis in a host home with intentional community building along with focused Biblical Study.  Please connect with Seth Hulsey if you’d like to learn more or be involved.  There will be a parent meeting on Sunday, August 6 at 9:30am prior to worship to discuss this.

The reality is we are anxious people living in anxiety filled world. Often we find ourselves asking if Jesus really cares. Over the next few weeks we will look at what anxiety is, how anxiety hijacks our hearts, and the reasons God gives for us to trust in Him!

Men’s Bible Study

Led by Hobie Wood

Tuesdays at 7:00 A.M. weekly at Church Office (113 Grant St. – Clarkesville, Desoto Building)

Join us this Fall as we study the book of Galatians. In a world of false gospels, additions to the gospel, dilutions of the gospel, and our own basic indifference to the Gospel, Paul’s letter to the Galatians helps us wade through issues such as the role of the Law of God in the life of the Christian, justification by faith, adoption by God, the nature of true freedom, and life in the Spirit.

Women’s Bible Study

Hannah Wood is in the process of coordinating a Bible Study for women.  If you are interested in being involved in this, please contact her.

Book: Parenting, 14 Gospel Principles that Can Radically Change Your Family by Paul David Tripp

Time: Thursday Evening

We will be looking at the big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. More than the latest parenting strategy or list of techniques, we need the rescuing grace of God—grace that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents.

Book: Finding God in My Loneliness by Lydia Brownback

Time: Wednesday Daytime

As we look at various aspects of loneliness, we will be reminded of God’s power to redeem our loneliness and use it in our lives to draw us to himself. Finding that even when we feel misunderstood, forsaken, or abandoned, we’re never really alone. God is always with us, and only he can meet all of our needs in Christ Jesus.

Book: Lies Women Believe by Nancy DeMoss

Time: Wednesday Evening

We will be looking at the areas of deception most commonly believed by Christian women—lies about God, sin, priorities, marriage and family, emotions, and more. Then see how we can be delivered from bondage and set free to walk in God’s grace, forgiveness, and abundant life.

Book: A Path Through Suffering by Elisabeth Elliott

Time: 3rd Friday Morning of Month

We will be looking at the treacherous passage through pain, grief, and loss, a journey most of us will make many times in our life. Through it all there is a way to see the transformation of all your losses, heartbreaks, and tragedies into something strong and purposeful.
